If you’ve never raised or cared for a baby and are pregnant with
your first, you might be surprised at some of the things that
babies can and will do. Here are a few things some mother’s
said they wished they had known about babies before they got
pregnant.

1. Babies Don’t Sleep Through the Night
Personally, one of us (we’ll let you try and figure out which one)
didn’t know that babies didn’t sleep through the night until she
was in labor. Boy would she have done things differently while
pregnant if she had. ;)

2. Babies Sense & React to Mom’s Mood
If you’re happy they tend to be happier and if you’re sad or
agitated they can tell this and will respond the same way. So,
when you’re baby is fussy and you don’t know what’s wrong
think about your mood. It might just be the reason.

3. Babies Don’t Always Know How to Latch On
As natural as breastfeeding is to both mom and baby it’s not
always second nature for either. Some babies have a hard time
latching on and need help learning just as some moms need a
helping hand too.

4. You Have Mothering Instincts for a Reason
Listen to those instincts even if it’s not exactly what the experts
say. There is a reason we have them and it’s not to completely
ignore them.

5. Terrible Two’s Really Do Exist
It’s not just something our mother’s made up, but most times it’s
not as bad as it they made it sound either. Many children who
experience terrible two’s start well before they turn the magic
age. It’s a natural part of their growing into their own little
beings. If you look at the reasons why they act the way they do,
this age will be much easier to deal with and will be over before
you know it.
